About This Site
This is a self-serve photo licensing archive. Every photograph is available for editorial or commercial use, priced transparently through an interactive configurator. No stock agency, no middleman — you deal directly with the photographer.
Browsing & search
The browse page shows all published work. You can filter by category (A, B, C) or search by keyword, location, subject, or equipment. Results load as you scroll. Each photo links to a detail page with full metadata, keywords, and the license configurator.
Licensing
Click any photo and switch to the License tab to configure a license. Choose from preset packages (Web, Print, Broadcast, Full Commercial) or customize each term individually: usage type, media, distribution, duration, exclusivity, and geography. The price updates in real time as you adjust.

Photo variants
Some photographs have multiple variants — different crops, orientations, or edits of the same scene. These share a single listing: the primary variant is shown by default, with clickable thumbnails to view alternatives. A single license covers all variants — you receive every version when you purchase.
Image delivery
Web licenses receive high-quality resized JPEGs (1200px for small, 2400px for large). Print, broadcast, and all-media licenses receive the full-resolution original file. If a photo has multiple variants, all are packaged together in a zip. Downloads are available immediately after purchase and remain accessible for the duration of your license.
Editorial-only images
Some images are marked editorial-only — typically because they feature recognizable people without a model release, or identifiable private property without a property release. These can only be licensed for editorial purposes: news, commentary, education, or non-commercial storytelling. The configurator automatically restricts options for these images.
Custom licensing
If an image is published but not available for self-serve licensing, or if you need terms outside what the configurator offers (exclusive rights, bulk licensing, extended use), contact licensing@timtrautmann.com directly.
Under the hood
The archive runs on Node.js with Express and Handlebars. Photos are stored in SQLite with full-text search via FTS5. Images are processed with Sharp — display variants are watermarked automatically. Payments are handled by Stripe. Authentication uses WebAuthn passkeys — no passwords. The site was built entirely by hand with the help of Claude.
Privacy
This site doesn't track you. No cookies beyond the session needed to keep you logged in, no ad networks, no fingerprinting. The longer version is in the Privacy Policy.
